What is Certification ?
Professionals in a great number of industries obtain certifications
that let the public know that they are competent at what they do.
Attorneys, doctors, CPAs, professional secretaries, surveyors and others
are all required to go through a certification process of some kind.
Certified professionals set the standards for their industries. In some
professions, if you are not certified you cannot work. In other
professions if you are not certified you make less money and have a harder
time finding employment. In all cases, certification brings prestige and
gives the professional an advantage over non-certified professionals.
Why do Virtual Assistants
Need to be Certified?
The worst thing that can happen to the birth and continued growth of a new
industry is to have the public lose its confidence in the ability of those
individuals practicing within the profession. This can slow down or even
stop the industry’s growth. By developing high standards for VAs to meet,
we are telling the world that this industry takes itself very seriously,
and the VAs who obtain the certification take their businesses very
seriously, as well.
Why is this Certification different
from other Certifications within the Virtual Assistant Industry?
Other certifications within the Virtual Assistant industry have failed to
meet the expectations the public demands. The most obvious reasons that
these certifications have failed to impress the public are that they are
restricted to members of their own organizations or graduates of their own
training programs and do not necessarily take into account formal
education or experience.
VACertification.com does not require
membership!
VACertification.com does not require membership in any organization or
training from any one particular company. We take your formal education
(from high school to graduate school), your experience in the business
world, your experience as a VA, other specialized certifications and
specialized training, and more, and using a special formula, we rate you.
Every applicant is rated using the same formula, leaving no room for
playing favorites. There are no “secrets” as to how the certification
works.
In addition to this, we also offer two distinct levels of certification:
PVA (Professional Virtual Assistant) is the first of the two levels of
certification. VAs at this level have worked hard to hone their skills and
are experienced in their craft.
MVA (Master Virtual Assistant) is the pinnacle of the certification
program. This level consists of VAs who have expanded their education with
additional courses pertaining to their practice and who have more depth of
experience by taking on a variety of tasks and projects.
